Einstein is pissed and so am I

This post is over a month overdue. Translation...it's been sitting in my "draft" folder since December 14th. As a result I've had to go back and make a few adjustments.

On December 12, 2007 one of the best new shows on TV was cancelled. It wasn't the Bionic Woman, which for all it's hype really ended up being a let down. It wasn't Cane or Pushing Daisies, although its only a matter of time. Not Aliens In America, or Dirty Money. The BASTARDS ARE CANCELLING JOURNEYMAN!
Theorizing that man could time travel within his own lifetime Dr. Sam Beckett stepped into the Quantum Leap Accelerator and vanished.
The Show stars Kevin Kidd of Rome fame and brings back all the good things about the time traveling accidental hero. It's a revamped Quantum Leap except this time the hero isn't a 5 degree carrying scientist, with an entire team helping him out. He's a normal guy who's friends and family believe is losing his mind because he keeps disappearing or not missing commitments. His job is in trouble now, his marriage on the rocks, and his cop brother thinks he should be committed. Meanwhile Dan (Kidd) continues to time travel and much like Quantum Leap he can't control the when or the where.
It makes no sense whatsoever. It would take much too long to explain all the wonderful things about this show so let me sum up its success by stating one very simple fact. It has been nominated for "Best New Show" in the People's Choice Awards. You remember the People don't you? We're those numbers you actually see when you're scanning the ratings charts. We're the ones you're allegedly airing these shows for.
I don't ask much of you folks out there but if you have an affinity for this show I implore you to find http://www.savejourneyman.net/ and do your part.
Full episodes are available online at NBC and for those of you that love this show as much as I do here's a taste of this marvelous morsel...

Lewis & Clark go to the moon

This one is for my two dear friends that (ahem) consumated their relationship years ago while watching Star Trek. It's not that Hollywood is out of ideas folks - the truth is that some things needed to be done correctly and if not now when.

If It's In The Game, It's In The Game

On the eve of the Hawks vs. Packers game I thought I'd post a few shots that The Admiral took at last weeks victory over the Redskins.

Movie Of The Week

No it's not Blade Runner. Not that B.R. isn't worthy because it's one of the great Sci Fi movies ever created. Is it possible that Ridly Scott peaked at that very moment?

So since it's been a bit since I've offered up an OTW I thought I'd give you something that gives us a bit of nostalgia for Ridley's good ol' days. Renaissance is an animated movie set in 2054 Paris. Now before you sigh and begin to click away take a look at the trailer. The entire movie is done in black and white and the slightly futuristic setting gives the movie a Blade Runner feel to it.

Enjoy!

No seriously...have you seen my hose?

I can't count the number of jokes that went through my mind when I read this headline (ex. "Ah yes but did he "see" her). The article itself is brief enough to allow us would be comics all the material we need. Anyone else got a hankerin' for some Chicken?

Man spots his wife during visit to brothel
‘I was dumbfounded. I thought I was dreaming,’ he tells Polish newspaper

Polish tabloid Super Express said the woman had been making some extra money on the side while telling her husband she worked at a store in a nearby town.

"I was dumbfounded. I thought I was dreaming," the husband told the newspaper on Wednesday.

Yes We Can!!!

I should apologize to you all. As I begin writing this it is becoming evident to me that I've already decided who I'm voting for. I really enjoy the presidential election process and typically I may lean towards a particular candidate or view but never before have I KNOWN this early in the game who I want as the next President.

There is still a long way to go before the general election (well over 250 days) so to be fair I will attempt to offer some air time to the other candidates as well.

The Democratic part seems to have been reduced to a two person race with the outside chance of John Edwards making some noise. I like John. I like the things he has to say and I love his passion. I think he'd make a fine president and really wish it had been him running against Bush in 2004. But that's not the way it worked out.

This time around John's party is presenting us with Hillary Clinton and Barrack Obama. The core beliefs of the two candidates are pretty similar. There are some differences here and there but ultimately they walk the same path. Where they really contrast is in their ability to inspire. Last night Hillary won the New Hamshire Primary. Her acceptance speach was text book. She thanked all the right people and droned on about the next step. Nute Rockney she ain't.

Barrack's speach was 13 minutes long. He opened and closed with a thank you to New Hampshire (textbook) and gave an early congratulations to Hillary for her victory (also textbook). The rest was a joyful mixture of John Kennedy & Martin Luther King Jr.

Judge for yourself. I'm inspired...are you?

Mr. Palmer, your limo is waiting

Somewhere along the way we've started to believe. Could it be? Is it really possible? Can a black man be President? This has been the question for at least 24 years when Jesse Jackson ran for President. We've tossed in Alan Keyes, Al Sharpton, and yes even a woman in Carol Mosely Braun. The most presidential of all of our hopefuls was David Palmer on 24. Hell, even I'd take a bullet for that man.

But they were all jokes. Well, all of them except for Palmer. Now some of you just read that and thought, "shame on you Chad". But it's the truth. Not one of them ever really had a serious chance. The closest was Jesse and let's face it folks, the man is a bigot. The irony of calling a man that marched with Martin a bigot is not lost upon me but it's also no less true. Just ask The Rainbow Coalition.

However, today in Iowa something historic happened. A non-caucasian male is the front runner for his party. Barrack Obama has officially given legitimacy to the idea that a black man can be elected President before I turn 40. There are still quite a few hurdles to leap, but Iowa is no longer one of them. Up next is New Hampshire, followed by South Carolina.

And now for absolutely no good reason, I give you Obama Girl.
